Evaluation of Energy Status of Dairy Cows Using Milk Fat, Protein and Urea Concentrations
نویسنده
چکیده
High yielding dairy cows are at an increased risk for many metabolic diseases, especially during early lactation when milk production increases, but with a lagging of feed intake. Namely, this combination leads to a negative energy balance (NEB). The animal attempts to supply the energy needs for milk production by increased lipolysis of adipose tissue. Nonesterifed fatty acids (NEFA) that are released from the stored triacylglycerol (TAG) in the adipose tissue are readily taken up by the liver where they provide energy for liver function. If more NEFA arrive at the liver, than needed for energy purposes, the excess may be oxidized incompletely and generEVALUATION OF ENERGY STATUS OF DAIRY COWS USING MILK FAT, PROTEIN AND UREA CONCENTRATIONS

Effect of Milk Urea Nitrogen of Dairy Cows in Relation to Breed
Milk urea nitrogen (MUN) of dairy cows was determined in relation to breed. A total of forty (40) Pabna and red Chittagong dairy cattle each of twenty (20) were selected to know the milk composition, nutritional status and milk urea nitrogen. Live weight of Pabna Cattle (187±14 kg) was higher than that of red Chittagong cattle (174±4 kg). In Pabna cattle milk yield (4.94 kg), minerals (0.15%) a...
متن کاملResponses of Milk Urea Nitrogen Content to Dietary Rume Degradable Protein Level in Lactating Holstein Dairy Cows
Nine multiparous lactating cows averaging 171 days in milk were divided according to days in milk and milk production into three 3×3 Latin squares with three 3-week periods to investigate the effect of rumen degradable protein on milk urea nitrogen. Diets were formulated to provide 3 concentrations of dietary rumen degradable protein (9.8, 10.8, and 11.8% of dry matter), while rumen undegradabl...
متن کاملMilk Production, Milk Fatty Acid Profiles and Blood Metabolites in Holstein Dairy Cows Fed Diets Based on Dried Citrus Pulp
The objective of the present study was to determine the effect of substitution of corn grain with dried citrus pulp (DCP) on milk composition, fatty acids profiles and blood metabolites in Holstein dairy cows. These parameters were measured in a replicated 4 × 4 latin square design experiment using eight Holstein cows. Each experimental period lasted 4 weeks. The four treatments were: control (...
متن کاملInfluence of Dietary Energy and Protein Intake on Yield and Composition of Milk in Crossbred Dairy Cows
The study was carried out on 120 crossbred Holstein × Shahiwal dairy cows for a period of 150 days to quantify the influence of dietary energy and protein intake on yield and composition of milk. Total 12 dairy farms having similar housing systems and holding at least 20 dairy cows in between mid to late lactation were selected for study purposes. The farms were located in the peri-urban and ur...

The purpose of this study was to evaluate nutritional status in Isfahan dairy herds and the relationship between milk urea nitrogen (MUN) and fertility in the first postpartum insemination. Blood and milk samples were collected from 170 and 290 Holstein cows from 9 dairy herds, respectively. Feed samples were also collected to quantify the relationship between MUN and protein and energy content...
